play hard or with ease? [Apr. 25th, 2005|10:20 am]
[mood | indifferent]
[music |Sinatra]

Adagio is a slow dance... the word itself is latin and translates as "with ease" It is painfully ironic that I have possibly torn ligaments in my knee after having exerted myself too hard with both soccer & yoga. "Life's about losing gracefully." (Mia Farrow)

make the two one [Mar. 28th, 2005|10:09 am]
[mood | ecstatic]
[music |"One Weak" by Deftones]

Thank you Stephanie; I was mindful Saturday morning... mindful of "my" parable:

Jesus saw children who were being suckled. He said to his disciples:
*These children who are being suckled are like those who enter the kingdom*
They said to him: "Shall we then, being children, enter the kingdom?"
Jesus said to them: *When you make the two one, and when you make the inner
as the outer and the outer as the inner, and the above as the below, and when
you make the male and the female into a single one, so that the male will not
be male and the female not be female, then shall you enter the kingdom*

In 1999, I discovered "my" parable from the Gospel of Thomas, discovered in northern Egypt in 1945 as part of the Nag Hammadi texts, believed to be the earliest recorded accounts of Jesus' teachings. I had found it in The Mustard Seed by Osho. It has driven me to practice yoga. It has driven me to read and to write. Across America, It has driven me... to the media capital of the world. It has driven me to delve deep into relationship. It has driven me to be.

I have been calling it "my" parable because as I wrote to Stephanie on Saturday morning: "Yeah, I've been trying to figure out that quote and why I chose it for (6)years now. You're right though, It does represent me and sometimes I think maybe it chose me, to represent it, because I want to scream it from mountaintops... "

Shortly afterwards, I went for a walk around the neighborhood, a walk I thought I knew too well. Where, once again, it has driven me to a most miraculous moment, the glorious sight of two leafless trees that have grown as one.

This is the essence of "my" yoga.

Dear Friend,

I am devoting this journal to my personal yoga practice with hopes of promoting yoga by sharing the many revelations yoga brings to myself and, in turn, to us all. Thank you for your interest!
